Privacy Policy

Short version: RetakeHQ runs on your own computer. Your demos, match data and analysis stay there — we never receive them. The only things that leave your computer are your license key (to check your subscription) and, if you turn it on, requests to FACEIT for your own match history.
Who we are
RetakeHQ is an independent software project. "We", "us" and "our" mean the developer of RetakeHQ. You can reach us at hello@retakehq.com.
The RetakeHQ app
RetakeHQ is a desktop application. The demo files you add, the data parsed from them (player positions, rounds, utility, economy), your notes and flagged rounds, and all analysis are stored in a local database on your computer. We don't operate a server that receives any of it, and the app contains no analytics, tracking or advertising.
The app connects to the internet only for:
- License checks. When you activate, and periodically after that, the app sends your license key and your computer's name to our payment provider, Lemon Squeezy, to confirm your subscription is active. The computer name lets you see and manage which PCs use your license.
- FACEIT match import (optional). If you set up FACEIT import, the app asks FACEIT's API for the match history of the FACEIT nicknames you enter and downloads those matches' demos from FACEIT. Those requests go directly from your computer to FACEIT and are covered by FACEIT's privacy policy.
Demos contain in-game names and Steam IDs of the players in each match. That information stays on your computer with the rest of the demo data.
Purchases
Subscriptions are sold through Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the merchant of record: it processes your payment, handles sales tax, and sends your receipts. Lemon Squeezy shares with us your name, email address, country, and order and subscription details so we can provide your license and support. We never see or store your card or bank details. Lemon Squeezy's handling of your information is covered by its privacy policy.
This website
retakehq.com has no cookies, analytics or tracking. It is hosted on GitHub Pages and uses Google Fonts; like any web host, these services receive your IP address and browser information when you load the page. See GitHub's and Google's privacy policies.
If you email us, we keep your message and email address so we can reply and help you. We don't add you to mailing lists or send marketing email without asking.
How we use information
Only to provide your license, give support, handle billing questions, and meet legal obligations (for example, tax records). We don't sell or rent personal information, and we don't share it except with the service providers named above or when required by law.
How long we keep it
Order and license records are kept as long as your subscription is active and afterwards for as long as tax and accounting rules require. Support emails are kept while they're useful for helping you. Data inside the app is on your computer, so you control it: uninstalling the app and choosing to remove its data deletes all of it.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing hello@retakehq.com. Depending on where you live (for example, the EU, UK or California) you may have additional rights, and we'll honor requests made under those laws.
Children
RetakeHQ isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email us and we'll delete it.
Future online features
If we add online features — for example, a hosted version that stores your team's data on our servers — we'll update this policy to describe exactly what's stored and why before those features launch.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. For significant changes we'll also let subscribers know by email.
